Después de haber sido abandonado por Carol, Ariel lo tiene claro: dejarlo todo para viajar y recuperarla, pero no cuenta con el dinero suficiente para hacerlo. Cuando todo parece perdido surge una oportunidad: inscribirse en una competencia de grupos musicales en la que el ganador obtendrá 10.000 dólares. Decidido a conseguir su objetivo, reúne una banda de rock conformada por su atolondrado amigo Ortega, una baterista rebelde llamada Felicia y Néstor, un mal guitarrista cristiano. En el camino, la banda tendrá que decidir entre el premio o su amistad, mientras Ariel descubre que el amor, al igual que una buena canción, llegan cuando menos te lo esperas.

After being abandoned by Carol, Ariel has it clear: leave everything to travel and win her back, but he doesn't have enough money to do it. When all seems lost, an opportunity arises: he signs up for a musical band competition where the winner will get $10,000. Determined to achieve his goal, he assembles a rock band made up of his giddy friend Ortega, a rebellious drummer named Felicia and Nestor, a bad Christian guitarist. Along the way, the band will have to decide between the prize or their friendship, while Ariel discovers that love, like a good song, comes when you least expect it.
